Since our founding in 2021 Boston First Aid has trained and certified over 500 youth in pediatric first aid and CPR in partnership with the American Red Cross. Boston First Aid was able to achieve its goal of closing its doors to the public for services as of Spring 2025. Thank you, Boston, for your continued support!
About Us
Licensed Affiliate with the American Red Cross
As an American Red Cross affiliate, our class curriculum conforms to the latest industry guidelines. We guarantee you will leave our class with the skills necessary to effectively and confidently administer first aid and CPR to infants, children and/or adults.
Our American Red Cross certified instructors conform to the highest industry standards set by the ARC. They are industry professionals with extensive backgrounds in child care, preschool, and pediatric first aid. Owner and trainer Kayla Briggs is BLS and PALS certified with both the ARC and the AHA, is a licensed trainer with the ARC and SafeSitter, is certified in both adult and youth mental health first aid, and is a professional rescuer. Boston First Aid & CPR Certification, LLC is a female owned and operated small business based out of Cambridge, Massachusetts and serves the Greater Boston Area.
Dedicated to Diversity & Equal Representation
At each and every training session we guarantee at least one POC manikin of each age range to be present.
Decades of research has found that POC in the United States and other first world countries have a lower likelihood to receive bystander CPR in public*, are less likely to survive following cardiac arrest, and have poorer health outcomes following cardiac arrest than the rest of the population. We aim to challenge these inequalities in care and response through the normalization of practicing CPR on POC manikins, hopefully increasing the likelihood of a POC receiving bystander CPR in public and therefore increasing chances of survival following cardiac arrest.
Fully Licensed and Insured LLC
We are a fully licensed and insured LLC registered with the State of Massachusetts that practices in accordance to all Massachusetts State Laws and Regulations. Upon request, group CPR classes and group certifications are available to travel to your worksite. We also currently offer First Aid & CPR certification classes at our comfortable, convenient location inside Hillside Community Church (an LGBTQIA+ friendly space) in Medford, Massachusetts, and at our new location, Crossroads Community Church in Framingham.
About the Owner
Owner and founder of Boston First Aid & CPR Certification, LLC, Kayla Briggs, is a K-12 educator working and residing in Cambridge, Mass. With a bachelor's degree from Emmanuel College in Child Developmental Psychopathology I strive to make all of the education environments I am a part of inclusive, accessible, and representative of all the people we serve. As a former preschool teacher in Boston I saw the need for people to continue to have affordable access to high quality first aid, CPR and babysitters training, and so Boston First Aid was born to meet that need. In 2021 we registered our LLC with the state of Massachusetts and have been providing the Greater Boston Area with only the highest quality training since.
